Bring Fall Scents into Your Home

It is officially Fall here in Oklahoma. And to celebrate, Ripple Creek Homes wants to share a few our favorite ways to fill your home with the comforting scents of Autumn. Let’s get started!

Homemade Body Scrub

Ok, so this is a two-for-one because with this homemade body scrub you and your home can smell like your favorite Starbucks coffee! Grab a clean mason jar and combine brown sugar and add in coconut oil until you reach a desired texture. Finish this yummy scrub off with the addition of pumpkin spice and cinnamon. Warning: you may be tempted to eat this in the shower. Try to refrain.

Mulled Wine

Of course, you can bake apple pies and pumpkin loafs to get your homes smelling sweet, but do you know what else you can do? Make your own mulled wine. Because what is better than a boozy cocktail that will make you warm inside and out? Grab your favorite red wine and toss it in a saucepan. Add in whatever sounds good to you, cinnamon sticks, oranges, vanilla, star anise. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer long enough to let all those bold flavors to get to know each other.

Candles

Candles can be straightforward and are easily accessible. There are a wide range of autumn scented candles you can pick up, or better yet, you can find simple recipes so that you can make your own at home. If you have plain vanilla candles lying around, you can take the in between route by arranging cinnamon sticks, rosemary sprigs, or fresh sage around the edges.

At Ripple Creek Homes we strive to design houses that make it easy to create your dream home. With these few suggestions, hopefully you can turn your home into a cozy fall haven.
