Baby Boomers help drive new home trends

June 29th, 2011By: Paul Harris

Our nation’s largest generation thus far (76 million people) is at or nearing retirement age. Baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964 are helping drive new housing trends. Baby boomers are more active than generations past, have a more sophisticated lifestyle and they want options in new homes. Some of the trends I’m seeing are home offices, wider doors and hallways, more natural light, maintenance-free yards and flex space (spaces that can have multiple uses such as a dining/study or bedroom/hobby room) which allows a home to change as the needs of the owner changes. If you’re considering downsizing or building for the first time, please check out the quality and style of Ripple Creek Homes LLC.
